RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve

The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve is the final step in complete, remote automation of the fermentation process!

The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve works as either a Spunding Valve or an Inline Regulator – it is directional. In one direction it operates as a Spunding Valve, in the other direction it works as an Inline Regulator. The functionality also needs to be configured either on the device or in the RAPT Brew App. You will need two RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valves to have both spunding and inline regulation at the same time or without changing the plumbing direction.

The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve is also designed to integrate seamlessly into the RAPT Fermentation Chamber.

The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve comes with a 12V DC power supply and a long enough lead to make mounting or installing in a RAPT Fermentation Chamber fast and easy.

Spunding

Full digital remote control for spunding pressure! This handy device is one of the last key components to completely digitally control the fermentation process. Until now, fermentation can be controlled through time or temperature, or by gravity or gravity velocity with a RAPT Pill. However, spunding must be set and monitored manually.

This has now changed! You can set up Automations that will slowly increase the spunding pressure as needed. Set the pressure to build up a couple of days into fermentation, or perhaps you want to only increase pressure when the gravity or gravity velocity is low, to make sure there is pressure in the tank before cold crash. You can elect to have the pressure slowly build up over time to maximise yeast health and fermentation speed – do this in conjunction with gravity velocity based temperature increases for the fastest, cleanest possible fermentation!

The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve is the missing link for total fermentation control.

Regulation

The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve can also be used as a regulator. With 8mm duotight fittings, it can seamlessly fit into any kegging setup, as well as being designed for integration into your RAPT Fermentation Chamber. You can use this to digitally control the gas pressure into kegs, fermenters, kegmenters or pretty much any other pressurised system.

Completely Automated Carbonation

The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve can also perfect and quickly carbonate your beverages! Simply set the desired level of carbonation and the temperature of the liquid, and the RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve will automagically pressurise until the correct carbonation is achieved. Its ‘Set & Forget’ taken to extremes! The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve will monitor the carbonation level of the liquid to ensure the fastest possible carbonation

Full RAPT Chamber Integration

The RAPT Digital Regulator & Spunding Valve has a very similar form factor to our standard Blowtie Spunding Valves and Inline Regulators. It is designed to integrate seamlessly into the RAPT Fermentation Chamber. The membranes can be changed out to suit left or right handed setups as required. Not only can you then remotely control both spunding and regulation, but this also adds an ‘always on’ digital pressure display to your RAPT Chamber.

• Max Gas Flow Speed: 20l/min (excessive flow rates can cause pressure to build in spunding mode and can cause slow pressure recovery in regulator mode)

Spunding Valve Specifications

• Pressure rating: 0-1.5Bar (22psi)
• Failsafe: YES (when power is off the pressure will still release at 1.5bar (22psi) max

Regulator Specifications

• Pressure rating: 0-8Bar (115psi)
• Failsafe: YES (when power is off no gas will flow through the regulator into the pressure vessel)

Warning

If hops, krausen or other products go through this valve please take it apart and clean immediately. Blockages from liquid or solids going through the valve can prevent the valve from opening and cause excessive pressure to build up in the fermenter. The simple solution is to choose a fermenter with adequate head space to prevent this issue.
