Where does the brand name "KegLand Aus-05" and "Brewkaryotes" come from and why did KegLand choose to propagate this yeast strain in Australia?:
As this product was manufactured for KegLand in Australia we have used the "KegLand AUS" in the product name. This yeast was also the 5th yeast strain that KegLand has attempted to propagate in Australia for sale which is why its "05" is in the product name. Brewkaryotes is a new yeast strain brand that KegLand has started as we believe our customers want an Australian-made high-quality yeast that is simply better value than other imported yeast products. Several other strains are currently being developed under the Brewkaryotes brand so stay tuned as more yeasts are added to the range.
The brand name Brewkaryotes is a play on words with the word Brew and Eukaryotes. Eukaryotes being the scientific name for single-celled microorganisms that we call yeast.
