This popular German strain is used in the production of traditional, authentic hefeweizen. It produces a high level of isoamyl acetate, giving the resulting beer notes of banana. With balanced phenol production, this strain produces notes of clove but remains banana forward. Low flocculation leaves the desired cloudy look, appropriate for the German wheat beer style.

"First time trying this yeast very good results very easy to use very positive with the culture of the yeast but I find it too expensive to use continuously"

Excellent balance of banana and clove, authentic

"Phenomenal yeast that will yield a very authentic Hefeweizen. Pricey, but worth it if really do enjoy your Hefe's and want to match the well known brands"

Aidan (5/5)

Very true Bavarian Hefeweizen strain

"Definitely worth the money if your after the perfect Bavarian Weisse beer. Loads of banana on the nose. Take note, in order to develop the banana esters you must pitch at a temp of below 18c and slowly rise upto a max of 23c towards the end of primary fermentation. It’s a very delicate strain."
