Many home made products can greatly be improved with perfect temperature control.  The Rapt Temperature Controlled Fermentation Chamber gives you an electrically efficient means of setting, monitoring and controlling temperature which is perfect for Beer Making, Wine Making, Salami Making, leavening bread, fermenting yogurt, kombucha, germinating seeds, growing sprouts, kimchi, sauerkraut, olives, cheese, making spirit washes.  Accurate temp control is the key to getting reliable and repeatable results.

Perfect as a Kegerator too!
This multi purpose chamber can also be used as a kegerator.  In particularly cold climates where the ambient temp is below zero, this chamber can warm your kegs and prevent them from freezing.  This chamber also has a higher keg storage capacity than a conventional kegerator that takes up the same footprint.  This unit can hold 4 x 19L kegs on the floor and has enough headroom that you can also fit another layer of 9.5L Half size kegs above this.  To fit beer taps you can drill your own holes through the door.

Convert to Display Chamber
This Chamber comes with brushed stainless steel PU foam-filled door.  If you want to upgrade to a glass door the double glazed glass door can be purchased separately and switched over.  This is part number KL15837 RAPT - Fermentation Chamber - Glass Door Only

What is RAPT?
RAPT is a dedicated Internet of Things (IOT) Hub for fermentation logging and control.  It's a free service whereby any RAPT enabled product can both log and store data to the hub where you can conveniently access this data.  The RAPT hub can also allow you to control your devices remotely giving you absolute control of the device irrespective of where you are.  The RAPT portal enables you to make complex temperature profiles that involved different temperature settings over time meaning you can start/run a temp profile giving you a set and forget experience.  The RAPT portal also controls the alert/notification process for you so you can receive email notifications in the off instance that something doesn't go to plan.

Why buy an insulated fermentation chamber over a glycol chiller?
Typically in the past, some customers have needed to resort to glycol chillers to chill fermenters but this represents several issues:
1. Glycol chillers often require a very cold liquid to enter into a fermenter causing an excessively cold part in the fermenter core.
2. Glycol chillers consume significant amounts of power and in most instances more than double what this chamber would consume.
3. Glycol chillers often result in spilling sticky glycol especially when hoses are connected and disconnected to the fermenter.
4. Glycol chillers generally require penetrations through the walls/lid of the fermenter making the fermenter less sanitary and requiring more cleaning. "who needs that!"
5. Often fermenters are not made with sufficient insulation.  So when using a glycol chiller much of the chilling is lost which is not only power inefficient but the customer ends up with a large temperature gradient.  This temperature gradient can result in convection currents in the fermenter that make it difficult for yeast and other solids to settle out of suspension.  So clarification of the beer takes significantly longer.
6. Many glycol chillers and fermenter combinations do not have sufficient power or are not well enough insulated to cool to sub-zero temperatures.  So crash chilling is not possible.  This is a significant compromise to a temperature-controlled solution and also results in less ability to clarify the finished beer.
For these reasons KegLand has developed the worlds first dedicated RAPT enabled fermentation chamber that can cool down to -2C and heat up to 50C even in hot and cold weather.

This Fermenter is so awesome,

"This Fermenter is so awesome, after using a self built style this make fermenting so much easier."

RAPT with my Fermentation Chamber

"I bought a RAPT Fermentation Chamber as there was no other way to keep the Wort cool to 18degrees except to buy a used fridge that would have a much bigger footprint. Space is an issue in most garages and living on the coast being outdoors isn’t an option. I’m on my second brew now. The RAPT program combined with a RAPT pill means that it’s a program and than forget process. The first brew I was checking it a few times a day. Now with the second brew I just rely on the notifications to keep track of the fermentation. I’m thoroughly enjoying my RAPT Fermentation chamber."

Honey warmer

"I know this isn't the intended purpose of this unit, however it is perfect for keeping my honey from crystalising once bottled. Easy to use and multipurpose with the cold setting so I can also use it to pot set my creamed honeys."

BuzzRunner H. (5/5)

Fermentation recepticle

"The idea is good but the insulation is not up to the job and the software is flakey. Needs better insulation and the extended temp sensor should be included as it is not useable as a fermenter without one"

Rapt chamber

"works very well. Controls temp perfectly. Integrates with pill hydrometer very nicely. Its quit to run. Needs something to put it on standby when not in use. Or simply turn it off. Great unit very happy"

A better chilling solution for warm/humid climates

"Excellent addition to the brewery, was having condensation and temperature control issues with makeshift coil based chillers in the Queensland humid summer and this fridge makes for a much simpler and more reliable temperature control. I wish the floor was just a couple of inches lower to fit a full 55L triconical stack with the hop bong on top, if anyone want to put one of those in this fridge either accept you have to lift it out, or just use the collection vessel at the bottom for hops. I also wish the drip/spill tray was a bit easier to access, the cover should be clipped on not screwed in IMO."

Gary (5/5)

Rapt chamber

"After having problems with massive temp swings and having to dump 3 batches batches of beer because of this, it was a no brainer. And wow what a game changer the quality of beer that im producing now, clean on point flavours and no stress. Its ezy to use and set up,plus having the app on your phone makes it ezy to keep an eye on things. . . . probably the best bit of gear and investment ive done with my beer making."

Craig S. (5/5)

So cool!

"Works a treat! Cold, warm & quiet running considering the internal fan. Easy to use & very self explanatory on manual mode which I'm using for the time being. Using the probe extension & thermowell for my fermzilla also."

darryl h. (5/5)

Beast

"Beast of a unit and works well. If there was anything I would change about it just make the drip container at the bottom easier to get to. Getting those 4 screws out is a mission"

Blake C. (5/5)

Best investment ever, especially paired with a RAPT Pill Hydrometer

"Temperature control is the ultimate level-up in home brewing. And while you can get heat pads and belts, they create hot spots while leaving the rest of the brew relatively cooler, and you often still need to cover the fermenter with some sort of insulation to try and maintain even temperatures. Yes, you can build your own fermentation chamber out of an old freezer if you want to, and there are benefits in having a top-opening unit in terms of overall efficiency. That said, there is nothing really inefficient about this amazing unit. Ever since I first heard about the RAPT Fermentation Chamber, I have wanted one even more than kids begging Santa to take them off the naughty list. There are so many nice design features that make this not just a fancy convenience, but a real must-have. For me, the return on investment was as immediate as my very first brew in this chamber. Getting temperatures right, ensuring stability throughout and when holding a diacetyl rest has meant that there have been no off flavours in my beer since I started using the chamber. Previously, it was hit and miss if my room temperature wasn't carefully (and expensively) managed. Now, I can live comfortably in the same room as where my brewing is done, and not alternate between living with uncomfortable temperatures for weeks just so I can manage the brew. Yes, it's an expensive unit for the average home brew enthusiast, but in my mind, a worthwhile investment that I wish I'd made years earlier. . . and so much nicer than the manky old fridge I had used previously!"
