We have included two options when drilling through your bench top to fit your hose. Either remove the stainless thread from the brass connection and drill a 14-15mm hole. You will need to use Lock-Tite glue or plumbers tape to get a good seal on this connection after you re-fit it.
Without removing the brass connection piece you would need to drill a 30mm hole to fit the bottle connection end through your bench top.

"Excellent product but it needs to be for the right Sodastream machine. It didn't work with my Sodastream Play machine as the pin wouldn't depress far enough to get a full shot of gas (not without putting serious force on the mechanism anyway). I then tried my SodaKing Adventurer machine and it worked perfectly. I think the machines that have a push-button system might be better suited rather than one like the Play where a large section of the body moves. Anyway, love the product!"

Does this allow me to a) plug directly into the machine and b) refill the oem cannisters or do I need something additional to do both?

Should be, provided they accept a standard threaded SodaStream cylinder. I can be tricky to insert the hose in non Sodastream models though
