I have purchased a lot
"I have purchased a lot from KegLand and been totally happy with every single item. This recent purchase of Caps has been the only set of items that I have not been 100% happy with. There is very poor uniformity of items and some sloppy workmanship. Issue 1. The tab on the top provided to screw the caps in is too high & I needed to cut them all back to about half the supplied height. With the height as supplied my kegs did not stack. For the kegs to stack the screw-in tab on these caps should be about the same height as the collar on a keg spear assembly. Even though they are relatively thin, each hacksaw blade was only good for a couple of caps as stainless steel bluntens blades quickly. Issue 2. There are 2 different styles. Some of one style have “HB” stamped on them. With this style the seal sits on a square recess as the body goes to the smaller diameter. The machining is not first class with some small gouges and uneven ends, but it seems they will seal fine – yet to test. The other style has the seal seating into a recess so that when looked at side on the seal looks smaller. Perhaps this has some sealing advantages I don’t know. However, with some of the caps small defects on the thin lip meant that I had straighten these out before the seal would snugly fit into the recess. As seen above as supplied the seal looked to be of different thicknesses on opposing halves of the cap. Issue 3 There needs to be more care taken with weld splatter. On this one I needed to clean weld splatter off the thread before it would screw in."
