How the Cold Plate Works:

If your beer is around 20°C (room temperature), and you pour it at a moderate speed (about 300mL every 10 seconds), the cold plate can chill your beer to below 4°C (very cold) in one pass, as long as at least 70% of the cold plate is covered with ice.
If your beer is warmer than 28°C, either slow down your pouring (so it chills longer) or run it through the cold plate twice.

Setting Up the Cold Plate:

The easiest way is to place the cold plate at the bottom of a cooler box (esky). You can drill holes for the beer lines and stick the plate down with a strong glue like polyurethane Sikaflex.  
This method means you don’t have to permanently modify your cooler you can remove the cold plate later if you want.

Why This Cold Plate Is Good:

It’s made from thick, high-quality aluminium, which helps it absorb heat from your beer quickly.
The new design includes special grooves (ribs) to transfer heat even faster.
Inside are four stainless steel beer lines (5.5 meters long, 4mm inner diameter each), so your beer stays clean and safe.
The connections are straight 6.35mm (1/4") Male duotight barbs. This makes it incredibly easy to set up using  8mm to 6.35mm duotight reducers.

How to Use the Cold Plate:

Install the Cold Plate:
Put the cold plate in your cooler box/esky. If you want it to stay in place, glue it down with polyurethane glue or Sikaflex. This plate does come with four mounting holes if you want to really drill it into something.

Add Ice:
Fill the cooler with ice, making sure the ice touches the cold plate directly. (Don’t leave it sitting in water drain out any melted water. This is different from cooling coils, which use ice and water.)

Set Keg Pressure:
Set your keg pressure between 20–30 psi for best results.


Troubleshooting Tips:

If Your Beer is Foamy:  

Check the beer line between your keg and the cold plate. If you see bubbles or air, your pressure is too low. Increase the keg pressure so CO2 stays dissolved.

If Your Beer Isn’t Cold Enough:  

Make sure the cold plate is covered with ice.
Pour more slowly, so the beer has more time to chill as it passes through.

Over Carbonation Warning:

Because you’re using high pressure (20–30 psi), your beer can absorb extra CO2 if left connected to the keg for several hours, especially if the keg is cold.

If you’re only serving for a few hours (up to 6–7 hours), this is fine.

If you plan to keep beer in the keg for longer, disconnect the CO2 after serving and release any extra pressure in the keg before storing.

For serving over multiple days, use a nitrogen/CO2 gas mix or straight nitrogen to avoid over-carbonating your beer.
