Talos 20L One Way Keg: The A-Type KeyKeg Alternative

The Talos One Way Keg is a 20L "one-time-use" keg solution perfect for breweries, wineries, and beverage producers. It serves as a direct, cost-effective alternative to other bladder kegs, such as the KeyKeg, while offering maximum compatibility in the Australian market. These kegs are designed for use with a standard A-type keg coupler, one of the most common types used in bars and restaurants, ensuring your product can be dispensed with ease.

Why Choose Talos One Way Kegs for Your Beverage?

Talos kegs combine proven technology with practical design, delivering freshness, cost savings, and simplicity for both you and your customer.

Advanced Bladder Technology (Similar to KeyKeg)

Just like a KeyKeg, our Talos kegs utilise a multi-layer flexible inner bladder inside a rigid PET outer shell. This "bag-in-a-keg" design protects your beverage from all external contaminants.

Aseptic and Ready to Fill

The inner bladder is made from a food-grade, flexible foil-lined material. Each keg is sterilised and evacuated of oxygen before shipping, allowing you to fill them as soon as they arrive with no need for pre-cleaning.

Zero Oxygen, Maximum Freshness

The foil-lined bladder has zero oxygen permeability. This means your beverage stays brewery-fresh for an extended period, protecting its delicate flavours and aromas from oxidation.

Dispense with Air, No CO2 or Nitrogen Needed

The bladder design allows this keg to be dispensed using simple compressed air. The air pushes on the outside of the bladder, squeezing the beverage out. This eliminates the risk of over-carbonation, oxidation from dispense gas, and the need for your venue to have expensive CO2 or Nitrogen cylinders.

Ideal for Wine, Coffee, Kombucha & Nitro Drinks

Because the dispense gas never touches the liquid, Talos kegs are the perfect solution for non-carbonated or sensitive beverages like still wine, cold brew coffee, kombucha, and nitro-infused drinks.

ECO-Friendly Recyclable Design

The kegs are designed for easy recycling. The PP handles and PET body can be separated and recycled after use.

How to Use Your Talos A-Type Keg (Instructions & Specs)

These kegs are designed for a simple, counter-pressure filling process. We recommend filling the keg in an inverted position to minimise foaming and ensure a complete fill.

What You'll Need

Step-by-Step Filling Guide

1. Preparation

Ensure your beverage is chilled if carbonated (5°C / 41°F max). Invert the Talos keg and place it securely on your filling surface. Thoroughly sanitise the keg's valve.

2. Connect the Coupler

Attach your A-type filling coupler to the keg's valve, ensuring a secure connection.

3. Counter-Pressure Filling

Begin filling, maintaining a minimum of 5 psi of counter-pressure within the keg using your coupler's gauge and valve. You can increase the transfer pressure from your source to speed up the fill, adjusting counter-pressure as needed to prevent foaming.

4. Completing the Fill

The keg will automatically stop filling when full. Place the keg upright, carefully disconnect the coupler, sanitise the valve one last time, and attach the anti-tamper cap.

Home made wine in kegerator - works perfectly!

"Just kegged a Wineco Ultra Sauv Blanc with one of these for the missus. This keg solves the problem of keeping it as a still wine (not made sparkling with CO2, plus no oxidation with an open bottle - if left over). In a corny keg you fill the headspace with gas to push the liquid, whereas this you fill the space around the bag with gas and squeeze the bag to force the liquid out - no contact with whatever gas you use. $6/bottle, won't need to go and fetch her a bottle of wine for half a year and she is as happy with this wine as she is with any purchased $15/bottle Sauv Blanc. Though it introduces a new problem, I had 2 corny's for beer. Then I added a 8L Oxebar for sparkling water. Putting the wine in, well, I need to take out a Beer keg :( Probably enough space for them all, except, the kegerator (series 4?) is in the lounge room and I don't know if I'm "allowed" to push the kegerator further out from the wall to take the gas bottle out of the kegerator to stored it behind. Not the worst problem to have in exchange for a kegerator in the lounge. This fridge is a few years old, when it dies the next fridge should be big enough and problem solved."
