Amazing Hop
"Love it."
KL36078
It truly is a dual-purpose hop that is capable of standing on its own in single-hopped beers in a wide range of styles.
Released to the world in 2000 by Yakima Chief Ranches, the American variety Simcoe® has become wildly popular with craft brewers. With a high alpha percentage and low cohumulone, it makes a very nice foundational bittering hop. It is also noted though for its favorable aroma qualities. It has a pleasantly fruity, yet earthy herbal and piney aroma.
Flying Fish used it to create its 10-year anniversary Barley Wine – 5 additions of it alongside Magnum. Sierra Nevada also uses it in one of their High Altitude bold beers Hoptimum. It has been referred to as “Cascade on steroids”.

"Love it."
"Intense pine, grapefruit zest, apricot, passion fruit, and berry with earthy/herbal undertones. Ideal for West Coast IPAs, Double IPAs, and American Pale Ales. Simcoe is highly regarded for its ability to stand alone in single-hop beers or complement other hops like Citra or Mosaic."
"These were used in the hopstand of a West Coast IPA. A hop stomper clone. Really lovely and got me extremely close to the genuine article. Will use again."
"Earthy old school ipa flavour 25 packets very convenient. Very happy"
