This really handy stainless adaptor ball valve will enable you to connect two PCO 1881 threads with a valve in between. Each side has an integrated O-ring that will seal on the neck of the PCO1881 Thread. Ideally suited to making a dry hop device for FermZilla.

This stainless ball valve assembly has the PCO 1881 female thread on both sides. The 20mm bore (approx.) makes it possible to put some dry hops into a Coke bottle or other soft drink bottle, attach it to the ball valve and use a closed loop to dry hop into your FermZilla Fermenter.

As show in the photo if you use this stainless ball valve in conjunction with the PCO 1881 Tee Piece and the Carbonation Cap, you will have the added advantage that you will be able to use CO2 gas to purge out oxygen from the hops before you dry hop. This assembly makes an inexpensive and very effective dry hopping tool.

NOTE: Dry hop pellets will require a bit of a shake to get them to fall through the 20mm bore.  If you tap the PET Coke bottle this should be enough to make the hops fall down into the fermenter through the ball valve.

Not for hops

"The valve itself is fine but don't bother trying to use it to add hops as in the picture. The aperture is too narrow and no amount of tapping will get a decent sized dose of hops through."

"Purchase by mistake , for an Apollo. Too big and heavy for the setup. My Bad."

Buy a hop bong

"I tried using this for dry hopping, but it clogs at anything over 20g of hops. Good idea, but a hop bong is better"

Q&A

Can I use this on the bottom of my collection jar to allow trub / yeast dump without pulling the whole jar off? Is there a fitting I could use to attach this to a large of silicon tube?
It will thread onto the carb cap threads with no issue, so this might work, although possibly the opening is a bit too small for effective trub collection.
