The KegLand MK5 Heavy Duty Black Gauge Guard will solve those woes. We've tested this by doing some Chuck Norris round house kicks to a 6kg bottle with this installed and it didn't break or leak.
Unlike most Gauge Guards/Gauge Cages this particular design is made completely from one piece of 304 stainless steel that has been black annodize coated so it won't rust over time.

Doesn't clear tank main knob
"I've got a MK 4 regulator and I have to rotate the regs on an angle to have the guard clear the main knob on the kegland 2. 6kg tank like in the photo. I can't have the regs vertical so I can view them on a bench. It might be a different fit on the MK 5."
