All RAPT Pill units come with a Yellow top housing. This is a coloured kit to distinguish between multiple pills.

The RAPT Pill Hydrometer & Thermometer is an advanced but affordable WiFi and Bluetooth Hydrometer and Thermometer. Designed from the ground up to be simple to use, but with an advanced feature set and a simple, sanitary design. The RAPT Pill Hydrometer & Thermometer will integrate perfectly with a RAPT Fermentation Chamber or RAPT Temperature Controller for fermentation control using time, gravity or gravity velocity to control your fermentation.

The RAPT Pill Hydrometer & Thermometer provides real time gravity and temperature data and logging from inside your fermenter. The sanitary design is easy to clean, chemically resistant and robust. The RAPT Pill Hydrometer & Thermometer comes complete with a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery that will provide months or even years of battery life*

*Battery life depends on Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity and telemetry interval – expect 12 months battery life when connected by Bluetooth with 60 minute telemetry intervals (Smart Mode disabled)

Important Note: Always charge the RAPT Pill for at least 24 hours before first use. This will ensure it is fully charged. If the battery is not sufficiently charged initially it may cause connectivity or registration issues.

Bluetooth Connectivity

The RAPT Pill Hydrometer & Thermometer can be connected to a RAPT Fermentation Chamber or RAPT Temperature Controller via Bluetooth. This is the ideal way to use a Pill as it will send temperature, gravity and gravity velocity data directly to RAPT device, allowing for incredibly precise and powerful fermentation control. Using the RAPT Brew App, the Pill can be calibrated for gravity or temperature directly in the fermenter over Bluetooth (Firmware 2.0.0 or later required, Smart Mode enabled)

Using Gravity Velocity allows for amazingly precise but completely automated fermentation control – there is nothing else like this on the market!

Network Capable

The RAPT Pill Hydrometer & Thermometer will also connect directly to a WiFI network (required). Once connected, you can access real time telemetry anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access! NOTE: Requires a 2.4gHz network

Easy and Accurate Calibration

The RAPT Pill can be calibrated using one or two point calibration in seconds, even if the RAPT Pill is currently inside a fermenter! Simply use Shake To Wake, connect and calibrate in seconds. Every RAPT Pill features highly sensitive and accurate accelerometers in 3 axes ensuring highly accurate gravity accuracy. (Requires minimum firmware 2.0.0, Smart Mode active)

Pill Housing Design

The RAPT Pill Hydrometer & Thermometer boats many advantages over other wireless hydrometers – it is designed from the ground up with brewers in mind!

1. Made from Nylon 12 and Polyketone (POK). Food grade, FDA approved, BPA, bisphenol, plasticiser and phthalate-free. Nylon 12 and POK are highly chemical and temperature resistant as well as extremely robust.
2. Ergonomic and Sanitary. With a single, centered thread and a seamless design that includes a silicon and EPDM double o-ring design this is easy to clean and sanitise
3. More Accurate: The large, smooth housing means the RAPT Pill is less susceptible to error from krausen, hops or CO2 bubbles from fermentation.
4. Multiple Housing Colours available: If you have multiple RAPT Pills, simply purchase different coloured housings to easily differentiate them (or to bling them up!)

Wireless Charging Option

All Rapt Pills can be retrofitted with the Wireless Charging Upgrade Kit. This is highly recommended as it means you will not need to calibrate the Pill after charging – calibration is recommended after opening the Pill housing.

*Accuracy may be affected if solids are stuck to the outside of the pill hydrometer. If you shake the fermenter from time to time this generally helps to wash hops and solid chunks of krausen off the body of the Pill and through the fermentation these will generally drop to the bottom of the fermenter.
