This kit is designed for those who don't have a Sodastream machine taking up precious bench space. But do want the convenience of taking bottled sodawater away with them.

This particular kit does not come with bottles, this is something that you should purchase from your local supermarket that suit your fridge. We find the Coles branded Sodawater bottles to be the best value and have very strong threads for our Carbonation Cap to attach to. These bottles roughly cost $0.75 cents each (depending on your Coles).

If you are wanting more than 1.25L at any one time, I would suggest purchasing extra Red Carbonation Caps here. These caps are also extremely useful if you open a bottle of soft drink and don't finish it. Don't you hate it when it goes flat in the fridge next time you go to take a drink. Now you can whack one of these Carbonation Caps on and pump it up before you put it back into the fridge, it will maintain full carbonation!

Installation:
Install the Regulator to the 2.6kg CO2 Bottle with a length of hose that suits your needs. We'd suggest around 2m or so. Ensure you cut straight and cleanly. No burs or cuts.
Attach the grey push in connector to the Regulator. Then attach the length of hose to it, ensuring you have pushed it as far as it can go in.
Then attach the opposing end into the Red/Grey Disconnect, again push it all the way on.
What what we are going to do now is a pressure check to ensure you don't lose an entire bottle of gas.
Turn on the 2.6kg Cylinder from the black handle ontop of it. The left hand side gauge of the regulator should shoot up (don't worry about the value) Next we will increase the pressure on the regulator up to 30psi then turn off the 2.6kg Cylinder pressure. Come back in an hour or so, if the regulator is reading zero. Then you'll have a leak somewhere in the system. Ensure everything is just a little bit more tight than hand tight. Check the hosing with soapy water if you're still experiencing leaks.

Fizzy Water time!
Step 1
Fill up your desired bottles with cold water from the tap or filtered water and screw in the Red Carbonation Cap. I'd leave a little bit of headspace, maybe three or fingers from the top. The more headroom you give it, the fast it will carbonate (fizz up) (these should be soda water bottles, not just normal still water bottles as these are not pressure rated).

Step 2
Chill down the bottle in the fridge, this usually takes about 5 to 6 hours. But its easier to put them in the fridge overnight

Step 3
Turn on your 2.6kg Cylinder from the top valve. Dial-up your regulator to about 30psi.

Step 4.
Pull the lip on the Red/Grey Disconnect back and connect up the disconnect to the Red Carbonation Cap.

Step 5
Shake it like a polaroid picture in 30 second intervals. Gently open up the bottle and taste test. If it needs more fizz, repeat this step. (It's easy to get CO2 into a liquid, its much harder to get it out. That is why we suggest to do it in stages to find the right threshold you prefer)

This kit includes:

1 x KL01489 2.6kg CO2 Gas Cylinder (FULL)
1 x KL07429 Type 30 - MK4 Regulator (4.5bar PRV & 65psi Gauge)

Happy Customer here

"Happy with the product so far. Works really well. It took some time for me to set up and understand how it really works but its very simple to set up, perhaps too simple."

So far I've found this

"So far I've found this kit to be great value, plus it's easy to assemble and use. I could be wrong but after reading some of the other comments here's a few tips on what I found best. . . -To get the max level of carbonation that I like, it takes MUCH higher pressure than what is officially suggested, At own risk but I reckon the preset safety release valve is preset there for a reason ;-) -Seems to gas better into cold water. - Leave around 10% air space in the bottle to increase the water surface area when shaken. -Shake the S##t outa the bottle for a full count of 30 seconds while it's still under pressure. -Shut off main gas at the top of tank, then slowly release the line pressure using the safety relief valve. Then disconnect the line from the bottle - This process gives an excellent level of carbonation and it stays aerated overnight even if the bottle is only half used. So pleased to no longer have to rely on CO2 supplies from dubious overseas brands!! Thanks Kegland"

Great setup.

"I’ve been slamming this setup for two years (with the 6kg bottle) and everything is still working perfectly. My CO2 cylinder is still more than 3/4(?) full. Uses way less gas than SS. Ignore the one star review of this great setup. The guy obviously has issues performing basic tasks."

Q&A

Purchasing mainly for making soda water but any issues with other liquids/cocktails/wine etc? Do you need to turn off or adjust pressure in-between uses? I want to make as easy as possible for other members of household if I replace the soda stream.
It will probably get a bit frothy with sugary liquids (although adding flavours to carbonated water like a SodaStream would work). Its easy to adjust the pressure to suit if desired.
Hey guys, it comes with the gas tank?? And how many bottle lids comes with it ? Thanks !
It comes with CO2 and one cap -there is a link in the product description should you wish to buy more!
