4 Inch TC Borosicilate Glass Distillation Column with Copper Bubbler Plates
Description
This distillation column is best suited for the Intermediate to Advanced hobbyist distillers entering the commercial sector who want a visual indicator of how the still is performing. New distillers are best suited to learn the basics with the AlcoEngine Reflux and AlcoEngine Pot Still range before venturing up to different types of distillation.
This distillation kit is Cooling Management still, where as the AlcoEngine Reflux stills are a Liquid management still that restricts the flow of distillate forcing a desired reflux ratio. With this design you are controlling the input of water to the RC component on the column to knock down vapours to fill the bubbler plates, taking on a small portion of the lightest vapors first and condensing them back into liquid as your final distillate.
Perfectly suited to making up to 96% ABV distillate with 3000w to 3500w of power. You can remove the borosilicate glass column and run as a pot still for gins, whiskeys, grappa, brandy and rums.
Please note: There is no instruction manual. This is deemed a commercial unit for those with a license to produce alcohol. KegLand takes no responsibility for your failure to comply with your state/local legislation.

Cooling water recommendations
In our experience we have split the water sources to each condenser separately for greater stability and control.
We used standard 1/2" Female x Garden Hose Fittings (brass) and braided Silicone Hose from Bunnings.
Best suited to be used with a 118L Kegmenter + 3600w Element or a BrewZilla Gen 4 65L with Pro Distillation Lid.
How The Bubble Plate Column Works:
Vapor will come into contact with the plates and caps inside the column, causing the vapor to condense back into a liquid. This will happen at the very top of the still where the RC cooler will knock that vapour back into a liquid, causing a reflux action. As the liquid then falls from bubbler cap to bubbler caps down, the liquid that falls is eventually foced back up through the plates again. This process of being forced to run through the caps and plates multiple times creates an end product that has essentially been distilled multiple times in a single run. Meaning you can get higher proof alcohol when compared to an empty column. The bubble plates perform a similar function as the copper packing in the hybrid column, but does so more efficiently. When running a bubble plate column the first run will start in the range of 72.5%-85%, depending on the quality of the wash you can reach up to 95-96% ABV the highest grade ethanol you can distill.
